Solar power units make great economic sense and with Mipower’s fixed cost my panels will pay for themselves within just 11 years, meaning the rest of the 25 year plan sees me in clear profit. In the current economic climate I call a return like that extraordinary! I have a big family and we use more electricity than I’d like, although we have worked to reduce our consumption by turning off lights and not leaving equipment on standby. In the past though, using PV panels like the ones supplied by Mipower, were a green choice and while it’s great to do my bit for the environment, it’s the economic argument which won me over and which mean I’m so happy to wholeheartedly recommend them to friends and family.

We invested in some panels for hot water about five years ago and were pleased with them so decided to invest in solar PV panels. Partly it was down to finances and getting a good return on the money. Banks are paying less than 1% interest in some cases and even with the best ISA we could find they’re only offering 3.3% but in the first three months of our panels we not only paid for our electricity but exported to the grid and earned £178. At 91 years old, I’m not thinking in terms of the 25 year life of the panels, but they’ll pay a good return to us and then I can pass that benefit on to my sons. Mipower’s panels provide a better return than anything else you can do today. We were very impressed with the whole installation – the scaffolders came on the Wednesday, the Mipower team installed the panels on Thursday and it was working that day, and the scaffolding was removed on the Friday.

I should like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who were involved with the process of installation. It was very quick with it all taking place on one day. The scaffolding arrived a day before and was removed very soon after.

My garden and house were clean and tidy after. All the workmen were polite and couteous and during the installation they were kind enough to let me know what was happening at each stage of the process.

I now have the system registered, have generated about £500 in the first three months and have received the notification from my electrical provider I will receive my first cheque soon. It feels so good! Also I have had my first electric bill and I have already saved nearly £100 in a quarter which is far more than you said on the quote you gave me, which is even better. I have changed the way we live in the house and use the free electric to heat the water so I have also saved on my gas bill. The bill I just received actually estimates I will save about £300 a year.

This is far far better than I thought and I am doing my bit for the environment.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who put my solar panel system on my house. They were so polite and kept my house and garden clean and tidy through the installation and also after. They even vacuumed my house! I will call them around again!

The system is working really well and we are saving money on our electric bill and using the free electric to heat the water saving more money. Your sales team were very conservative on the figures, which I understand they have to be. However, with tax free income and the savings I expect to repay my investment much sooner than was said on the quotation.

I do wish Mipower every success, you deserve it. You have a great team of people and the service is second to none.
